Exotic Club & Purse Candy Playing at Kelly's Olympian this Sunday

We're excited to say that our friends in Exotic Club and Purse Candy are playing at Kelly's Olympian this Sunday (May 5th).   They'll be sharing the stage with Coastlands to complete this great night of music. Exotic Club have been busy playing locally and have been known for their unique "dirty" and danceable electronic punk.

Remi Boille (Marmoset's own Licensing Coordinator) recently transplanted to Portland via France, produces the dark sultry beats that set the foundations for Exotic Club.

Show starts at 9:00. Start planning your dance moves.

Sunday at Rontoms: Wesley Jensen to play Marmoset's MusicFest Party // Hott Summer Nights 2.0

Wesley Jensen is making the trek from Redding, California to Portland  this weekend for our Hott Summer Nights Musicfest show. Show him some Oregon hospitality and see him play at Rontoms outside stage at 4pm. In fact, he might be the most under-rated and unknown artist playing our party...but quite possibly the best. If you've been sleeping under a rock or something and haven't heard, Hott Summer Nights 2.0 is our un-official MusicfestNW party that's happening this Sunday at Rontoms. The show starts at 2pm with Great Wilderness and goes all day and all night until Pure Bathing Culture ends things with their 10pm show. 15 bands will play, alongside 4 Djs, Sizzle Pie pizza, and all the $1 beers you can drink. Free party.

We're happy to have Wesley Jensen and the Penny Arcade on our licensing roster. Download or stream their song, "Building Houses" HERE.

See you Sunday. Remember to RSVP to the party here.

Sunday at Rontoms: 1776 plays Marmoset's MusicFest Party // Hott Summer Nights 2.0

1776 makes rock music. Simple as that. They're heavy and they're upfront. They're taking center stage out back at Rontoms this Sunday at 5:30pm for our Hott Summer Nights Musicfest party. If you're tired of folk, folk pop, baroque pop, and other largely light and acoustic arranged sounds... you will likely be refreshed by 1776. They'll rock your face off. We promise. Join us and see 1776 play this Sunday alongside 14 other bands. Add in Sizzle Pie pizza, cheap beer and 4 DJs, and you have a solid night.

Tartufi is a band everyone here at Marmoset HQ really digs and it's an honor to have them on our roster. Their sound is youthful and unrestricted. And that's the way we like it. They'll be in town this weekend for two shows: Friday night at a house show, and Saturday night at Kelly's Olympian. Be sure to catch them before they jump town! Here's a track from their upcoming record: Mourning's Wake by Tartufi

Marmoset + Friends Present... HOTT SUMMER NIGHTS

Marmoset is kicking off summer and hosting a private party for friends, family and wizards in Portland's creative and music communities. If you fall into one of these categories and want to join the fun, give us a shout. We're honored to have the sweet, sweet sounds of Damien Jurado,  Pure Bathing Culture, Houndstooth, and DJ vs. Nature from Beacon Sound. The fine folks at Upright Brewery, Ninkasi Brewing, and Bull Run Distillery have graciously provided their best beer + spirits for everyone to enjoy. Snacks are being provided by Two Tarts Bakery. We know how much everyone loves snacks. #pdxmusic

A Worthwhile Cause: Morpheus Youth Project Benefit Show At Barbati's Saturday, May 26th

The folks at Morpheus Youth Project are holding a benefit concert to raise money for their cause. In short, the Youth Project helps young people in the prison system try to transition to civilian life through the arts. By showing them an outlet for expression, Morpheus is aiming to help these young people start fresh and gain a hold on their self image. The Benefit concert is being put on by a Portland State University criminal justice class, in Ted's at Barbati's Pan on May 26th.  The show is featuring a slew of local acts, such as Elevated, DJ Wicked, and Boosen. You can also support Morpheus by buying their album on Bandcamp.

Check out this worthwhile cause, and give the Morpheus Youth Project some love at Barbati's.
