Balancing power with subtlety // 3 imaginative, chamber-driven tracks from Jeff Mercel

A powerful song doesn't always mean loud and anthemic. Sometimes the songs that move us the most, come in subtle forms. We're honored to present the chill, orchestral compositions of Jeff Mercel.

Drawing from a deep well of musical experience (including being a key member of the art-rock outfit Mercury Rev), this well-seasoned composer/multi-instrumentalist conveys so much emotion in every piano melody and string pluck.

We present 3 cinematic tracks that can add weight and emotional vibrancy to your project.

Diving directly into vulnerable territory, the piano-driven "Sinking in the Rain" drifts along in a reflective, yet bright state. Keeping in calm fashion, hopeful string swells pick up the mood, transforming the entire piece into an imaginative and romantic declaration of love.

Adding drum machine and synthesizer into the mix, "Undercurrents" presents a dynamic story of reflection. Sparse piano provides percussion along with blips of synthetic textures, leading down a cool, hypnotic trail, lulling you to a calm, collected destination.

"Tower View" gives a panoramic view of a lush bedding of driving strings, horns and big drums. Quickly ascending into an honorable journey, empowered and charged with epic energy, the one thing to remember is to breathe after listening.

The soundtrack to discovery // 3 inspiring + orchestral pop song from Cup of Gold

Travel around the world with Budo's electro-pop

Featured Artist // Matthew Morgan

Featured Artist // Federale

Gather 'round outlaws, ne'er-do-well's and drifters.  This music is for you.

Federale writes orchestral ballads for the most intense of shoot outs in their own brand of spaghetti-western compositions.  Re-capturing the gritty, yet spacious atmosphere of the dusty old west, this band presents huge sonic soundscapes packed with dueling drums + guitars, trumpets, choirs and even melodic whistling to set a strong tone and vivid imagery.  Set down those copies of "A Fist Full of Dollars" and "Once Upon a Time in the West" and dig these new (and vintage) sounds...

The slow building intro of their song "The Ascent", feels like a scene out of a Sergio Leone film. This honorable and masculine composition is cinematic and climbs in intensity over time reaching a climax of horns and high pitched vocal choirs leading the way in this sombre tale.

"Road to Battle" starts off a with a steady pulse and gallops along in a classic and rebellious spirit.  In just 2:49 minutes, it feels like a journey into the foreboding and open desert country.  Electric guitar and organ are showcased in this instrumental that would make Ennio Morricone proud.

The big drums in "Fine" really shine through this anthemic piece. Both inspiring and upbeat, the epic whistling and brass section creates a powerful arrangement. All in all, this badass composition might just make you pick up smoking and horseback riding, just saying.
