Wesley Jensen seems to take the creative adage "write what you know" to heart, given that his vast catalog of music is heavily influenced by the his upbringing and the surroundings that follow. Often intimate and never lacking of vivid and descriptive narration, Jensen's music moves and travels much like a diary of moments and vignettes. With the release of "Californian" that is digitally unveiled today on Bandcamp, Wesley Jensen turns in another chapter going deeper into his vivid dreams.
The first thing that comes to mind when listening to Jensen's music is how cinematic his brand of indie-pop is. Each song evokes a character that you may see in a Wes Anderson film, going in and out of heavily decorated rooms, sonically textured to get lost in the details. Californian brings together surf-rock sensibilities with some sweeping moments of the Beach Boys; all coming together completing a novel within an album of many moods and moments.
We've had the honor of working with Wesley Jensen on various projects and it's been great having him in the family. We couldn't be happier with sharing his great music with the world.
