The Portland Party @ SXSW: March 14, 2012

Portland may still be in the midst of a typically long winter, but it's basically always summer in Austin, Portland's sister city that coined the phrase "Keep [City Name] Weird." So instead of waiting around until June, Marmoset has decided to move the party to Texas for one glorious day next week.

This year’s unofficial SXSW festival circuit will feature a free, multi-stage exhibition on March 14th at The Grackle - located at 1700 East Sixth Street, Austin, TX, 78702. Aptly named The Portland Party, the all-day concert will feature 23 Portland-based artists, including Typhoon, Talkdemonic, Laura Gibson, Ramona Falls, The Parson Red Heads, and Y La Bamba.

In addition to providing awesome music, Portland will bring the always-appreciated gifts of free beer, coffee, and liquor. Local breweries will be shipping down a bunch of kegs for two "Power Hours" of free beer, beginning at noon and 6:00pm. An additional morning Power Hour will feature free Stumptown Coffee, and an evening Power Hour will feature free 360 Vodka. Yay! Marmoset is co-presenting with a long list of P-town's most fab peeps, including Tender Loving Empire, Voodooo Donuts, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, Travel Portland, Deschutes Brewing, 360 Vodka, Octopus Entertainment, AtoZ Media, Eleven Music Magazine, Tixie, and others.
