While we're certainly pumped about all of the artists performing at the Marmoset Music Fest Party this Sunday at Rontoms in Portland, I would be remiss if I didn't come clean and confess a couple of favorites that I'm feeling a little wild-eyed and crazed to see. Dolorean and Quiet Life are a couple of my faves, whom I enjoy taking in with a glass of whiskey in hand. And you can probably add Pickwick to my short list too. Pickwick is definitely one of my new faves and oh man, if you haven't heard of them or have never seen them play live, make certain you're at Rontom's for their 6:30pm set so you can get your dance on. I just had the pleasure of seeing them live for the first time a few weeks back at Doe Bay Fest - a little known music festival in the San Juan islands that feels more like Summer Camp. Let me tell you, Pickwick had Orcas Island going mad for their 45 minute set, even breaking the stage by somehow getting around 100 people on stage with them. It was nuts. Here's a couple photos from the mayhem they incited. If you look closely, you'll see Pickwick's lead man Galen standing in the middle of the crowd with the mic in hand, red and black checkered shirt.
See you Sunday!
