After a stint living in the Los Angeles heat, The Parson Red Heads have recently moved to the milder seasons of Portland, Oregon. Upon arriving, they have made an instant splash in the local scene, rocking hard at MusicFestNW, playing the McMenamin's NW Music Tour, and they have a new record they're getting ready to put out with rumors of a new label deal... and they joined the Marmoset Music roster. Not bad. With songs reminiscent of Tom Petty and Big Star, The Parsons have taken the L.A. sunbeams and put them into notes and harmonies. The bright guitars and warm vocals accentuate their canyon rock tendencies, sharing similarities with fellow LA-area rockers, Dawes and Delta Spirit. This sunny feeling is illuminated by the sense that the Parsons are just one big family. In fact, bandmates Brette and Evan Way are married.

With an ridiculously dynamite live show, it's safe to say the Parson's are at home on stage. By mixing guitar hooks, vocal harmonies and the occasional slide guitar, the Parson's take on 60's pyche-pop is one that is at home in another time. It's so good, in fact, that I dare you not to smile.

We hope that you're as excited for our new addition as we are. After all, The Parson Red Heads are one of the best ways to wave off Portland's gloomiest days.
