Marmoset Music and director, Rupert Wainwright, recently teamed up on an interesting project for Russian broadcast. We just wrapped up scoring an original track for a Wainwright directed Russian brand spot, which will be used to help build the hype and excitement around the upcoming 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. Need us to jog your memory a little on Wainwright? No problem. He's known for such classic films as, "Blank Check," and the more recent horror films "Stigmata" and "The Fog" - the latter which was set in Oregon. While he has a solid resume of film making, it's his music videos that have won the hearts of us at Camp Marmoset.
Wainwright is the creative genius behind NWA's pop culture classic, "Straight Outta Compton" and M.C. Hammer's "U Can't Touch This" and "Pray." These videos - especially NWA's "Straight Outta Compton" - have had a significant impact on popular culture. For better or worse, M.C. Hammer's "U Can't Touch This" inspired teens across the world to hit the dance floor in Hammer pants. Either way you look at it, we are honored to work with someone who's left such interesting fingerprints on our beloved pop culture.
