The Pairing Menu

Hand-curated treasures to enjoy while listening.

Montelobos Mezcal

Made in Santiago Matatlán Oaxaca, with 100% organically certified agave espadín, Montelobos Mezcal mirrors the authentic spirit embodied in Y La Bamba’s music. The brewing process takes place in a palenque, or distillery, on renowned mezcal scientist, Iván Saldaña’s, family property. Grinding the agave with a stone wheel and roasting it in an underground pit, Saldana crafts his mezcal the same way it has been made for hundreds of years. Try it on the rocks or in a Oaxaca Cooler, turn up the uplifting track “Cara Cara” and unleash the inner light that lies within.

Entice Perfume

There’s something to be said about the power a simple scent has to uplift, rejuvenate or relax. Much like Y La Bamba’s bright, revitalizing sound, the scents found in this Portland-made perfume -- a blend of rosewood, lavender, patchouli and rose geranium -- can trigger a transformative experience…if you let them. For a refreshing mind vacation, turn on Y La Bamba’s hypnotizing song, “Ulysses,” place a few drops on your palms or temples, and take pleasure in the simple act of being. Your body -- and mind -- will thank you for it.

Leather-Wrapped Crystal Pendant

Crystals are often associated with the mystical side of the universe -- spiritual healing and purveying light and energy. We know you’re probably thinking “It’s just a rock…” but hear us out. Ojos Del Sol is all about finding the beauty and wonder in everyday life. Whether you believe in the metaphysical powers of crystals or just need to remember that there’s still a little magic out there, this  pendant will help. Throw the inner skeptic to the wind, get lost in Luz Elena Mendoza’s hypnotizing vocals and relish the curiosity that comes along with things left unexplained.

Baked Milk and Bee Pollen Chocolate Bar

Abeja is spanish for “bee,” making it an appropriate name for this Portland-made confection, crafted from four simple ingredients: cacao, sugar, baked milk and bee pollen. Bee pollen alone is known for its many healing benefits, including aiding in recovery from illness and extending longevity. In combination with the antioxidants found in dark chocolate, this tasty treat offers more than a few seconds of bliss. Symbolizing the land of milk and honey mentioned in “Ostrich,” let this  chocolate bar connect you to the raw, simplistic nature of Ojos Del Sol... or just treat yourself to some fancy chocolate.

Tarot of Cocktails Recipe Deck

Mixing magic and mystery with the art of bartending, this Tarot of Cocktails recipe deck is the perfect otherworldly addition to any party. Curated by Tender Loving Empire, Y La Bamba’s record label and a Portland-based artist collective, each card includes an original illustration and craft cocktail recipe. While not used for divination, these cards are a sure predictor of an unconventionally good time.

Colored Smoke Bomb

We all have a piece of ourselves that no one else knows about -- the radical day dreamer, the unabashed shower singer, the unsuspecting break dance artist. These colorful smoke bombs, similar to the ones Y La Bamba use in their music video for “Libre”, represent the metamorphosis of character that ensues when you discover your true self. For a whimsical -- maybe even transformative -- experience, use these kaleidoscopic combustions to start the party, enhance your latest photography experiment or release a burst of positivity and light into the world. We highly encourage all of the above.
