We've got the popcorn popped and are settling in to watch the 2013 Academy Awards. All of us at Marmoset are stoked to have music in SIX commercials airing during the Oscars festivities tonight, all part of a new brand refresh for JC Penney. The campaign, titled "Dear America," is a wonderfully epic and cinematic slice of apple pie, featuring a family of JC Penney partner brands, such as Levi's, Liz Claiborne, Cosabella Amore, Joe Fresh, Pearl by Georgina Chapman, and more. The flagship spot is a :90 second anthem titled "Dear America," rekindling all kinds of genuine heartfelt tingles and goodness that helped launch the stalwart JC Penney brand back in 1902. There are 11 spots in all - six of which will be featuring during the Academy Awards festivities.
Marmoset Music is the exclusive music agency for the massive global JC Penney campaign, producing and composing original music, supervising and clearing music from major label indie artists, while also featuring music from artists on Marmoset's own roster of talent. The campaign features music by The Divine Fits, Elbow, Gary Clark Jr., The Buffalo Killers, Wesley Jensen and the Penny Arcade, Keith Kenniff and others.
